WHY DID YOU CREATE THIS diabetic cookBOOK?
Having had diabetes for 30+ years, I know too many people who deal with blood sugar spikes after almost every meal. Or they feel like they’re stuck in a restrictive, low carb diet. And they miss having their favorite foods they no longer eat because they’re trying to avoid blood sugar issues.
I know firsthand that it doesn’t have to be this way! So I knew I needed to share what has worked for me for years now.
WHAT Delicious RECIPES ARE IN THE diabetes cookbook?
In addition to the trusted approach I share in this diabetic cookbook, you will also get 50 kid-approved recipes for the whole family. I include breakfasts, main dishes, sides, and snacks. It’s a complete collection of great-tasting recipes. And every single one has a full-color photo, also! Recipes include things like:
- apple oat pancakes
- loaded waffles
- inside-out stuffed peppers
- lean chicken chili
- bbq chicken nachos
- mac and peas
- strawberry scones
- mixed berry bars
- raspberry smoothie
- and more
There are also creative recipes like Loaded Waffles and Pancake Tacos. And you certainly don’t have to be a kid to enjoy these!

WHAT MAKES THIS Recipe BOOK DIFFERENT?
Many cookbooks for diabetics are generally low carb. (If we don’t eat many carbs, our blood glucose can’t go up very much, right?) But the trouble with that approach is that our body actually needs carbohydrates for energy. So, in this book, I remove the often-daunting nutritional parameters of a carbohydrate-conscious diet. I take special attention to walk you though how you can still eat carbs AND minimize the blood sugar spike.
Also, there are full-color photos of every single recipe in the book. I personally made all of these foods for my family. There’s no guessing at what the end result might be. You get to see it for yourself before you even decide to make it!
Another key difference in this book is my one-meal approach. This complete diabetic cookbook is full of kid-approved and family-friendly recipes. Now everyone can enjoy at mealtime together!
These new recipes are also full of real ingredients that home cooks can easily find at most stores. Everything is accessible!
Most importantly, the nutrition concept shared in this book is applicable to basically any meal or snack you choose to eat. You can take this approach, apply it to your daily life, and make an instant difference in your diabetes!
Plus, you also get full access to the book bonuses in the back of the book. Those include resources for meal planning, blood sugar tracking tools, and also recipe templates to help you track nutrition. You don’t even have to sign up for a membership or a free account—they’re just all yours!
WHO IS THIS DIABETIC RECIPE BOOK FOR?
The point of this book is to help you balance blood glucose, so it’s for a lot of different people.
For example:
- people with type 1 diabetes
- moms of kids with type 1
- people with type 2 diabetes
- spouse of someone with type 2
- anyone with pre-diabetes
- anyone with gestational diabetes
- people with other forms of diabetes
It’s also great for anyone who simply has a desire to eat healthy meals with balanced nutrition.

How do your recipes compare to ADA Recommendations?
There are certainly similarities in my approach and the ADA’s evidence-based guidelines. You may recall from my earlier post about meal planning, the American Diabetes Association offers a “Create Your Plate” approach to their specific nutritional guidelines. They suggest you fill half your plate with non-starchy veggies. The other half is lean protein and good quality carbohydrates.
My approach is similar in that it is a combination of different food groups. But I also include healthy fat in my approach. My specific approach is a three-pronged concept that I detail fully in the first section of the book. It’s all based on nutrition and digestion. This is what has kept my A1C under 6.0 for years!
It’s not that I don’t ever indulge in special treats. I do occasionally. And it’s certainly not that I never have a high or low blood sugar. (Is that even be possible with diabetes?) I do have sweet treats once in a while. But I balance it with moderation and movement. Those are two of my guiding principles I share in the book as well.
As always, please consult your healthcare team with any questions about your care and act accordingly.
